  2. Your wallet signs onceWe ask for an authorisation for that exact amount, for that one order. It is not a standing allowance on your balance and not a subscription that renews itself: the next purchase asks you again.
  3. Your eSIM arrivesThe moment the network confirms the payment, the QR appears. Scan it and the phone is ready.

What x402 is, briefly

It is an HTTP status code that sat unused for thirty years: "402, payment required". When you ask for a plan, the server answers with that 402 and states the amount, the asset and the address. Your wallet signs that authorisation, the request is repeated carrying the signature, and the order is placed. We never touch your keys — they live in your wallet and they stay there.

The two networks we take

  • USDC on Solana

    Confirmation in seconds and fees measured in cents. Phantom and the other Solana wallets all work.

  • USDC on Base

    If your balance lives in an Ethereum wallet, Base is the cheap way in. Same asset, same purchase.

Where do the USDC come from?

Wherever you already keep them. If you need to buy some with local currency, an exchange like Bitso or an on-ramp like MoonPay will ask you to verify your identity — they are required to, and there is no way around that. We are not: the purchase here goes straight from your wallet to ours, with no account in between.

For agents

CHIPS sells through the same door to a person and to a program. There is no API key to request and no onboarding to complete: the payment signature is all the identity we need.

  • GET /.well-known/x402lists the payable resources (a non-normative mirror of the discovery document).
  • POST /api/v1/x402/ordersanswers 402 with the offer; repeat the request carrying the signed payment header and it returns the order.

An international data-only eSIM. It carries no Mexican phone number, no calls and no SMS, which is why it is not a Mexican phone line and is not tied to a CURP. Your own Telcel, AT&T or Movistar line remains subject to Mexico's line registry: CHIPS neither replaces it nor protects it from suspension. No contract and no minimum term — you buy again when you want to. Speed depends on the network, and the data leaves over an international route.
